Erik has coached club and high school volleyball going back over three decades.  Right after college, Erik took a group of boys from Ohio, Michigan and Indiana and  earned a bid to JO's and a top 20 national finish.

Erik resumed his club coaching in Denver at Sportsbridge Volleyball Club as the head coach of the 13 American team.  The club changed its name to NuuSky Volleyball where Erik coached the 14 Black and 15 Black teams before NuuSky officially closed its doors. 

This is when 303's story began.

In 2013, Erik led the 303 VBC 18 Elite team to a bid to the Junior National Championships in Dallas.  This capped a season in which the team finished 4th at Colorado Crossroads, 2nd at Big South, and 10th at the Show Me Qualifier.

The next year, Erik's and Coach Al's 303 VBC 13 Elite team earned a bid to the Junior National Championships in Minneapolis in the National Division.

In 2017, Erik's 18 Alpha team earned a club-record high 11th place at the Girls Junior National Championship in the 18 American Division.

In the 2018 season, Erik led the 303 VBA 14 Alpha team to a 27th place finish in the 14 American Division at the Girls Junior National Championships in Detroit. 

In 2019, Coach Erik's 303VBA 18 Alpha team won the club's first ever Gold Medal and "Gold Volleyball" at the 18s Northern Lights Qualifier in the 18 USA division.  The team competed at the 18s GJNC tied for 25th with a 5-3 match record and 12-6 set record.

In 2020, Erik and Coach Scott led the 18 Mizuno Boys team to earn an 18 USA bid at the Northern California Qualifier.  It marked the first time in Colorado boys' club history that one club had two boys teams earn a bid to the Boys Junior National Championship (16 Mizuno double qualified last season at SCVA and the Boys Winter Championship qualifiers).

Four seasons ago, Erik completed his sixth and final year as the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Thomas Jefferson High School.  TJ has qualified for Districts every year and has made two State appearances as well, including in Coach Erik's final high school match. Erik has two grown children, Alissa and Jason.
