Poulter comes to 303 after 3 years at NORCO following 9 years at The Front Range Volleyball Club, including 4 seasons as the 14 Open Head Coach, 2 seasons 13 Open Head Coach, 1 season 15 Open Head Coach and 2 seasons as the 16-1 Assistant Coach.  Bob was the Lead Coach for the middle school program 2 seasons and also director of the clubs camps for one season. Before FRVBC Bob was the Lead Coach for the middle school program at Nuu Sky Volleyball club for 2 seasons and also coached one season at Sportsbridge.  Bobs first club coaching experience in Colorado was with the Crush Volleyball Club.  Bob has also coached at Eaglecrest High and was on staff during the Raptors State Championship and 31-0 season in 2007. While living in Chicago, Bob was the Head Coach at Tinley Park High School for 4 seasons and coached 16 Open at Chicago Finest Volleyball Club.

Bob graduated with a MS in Sports Promotion and a BS in Education from Eastern Illinois University.  He is currently a teacher at Eaglecrest High School.

Bob is married to wife Rhonda, and has two children, Jordyn (VB at the University of Illinois 15-19/USA National Team 19) and Lorrin (VB at University of Denver 19).

I am originally from Wichita, KS and where I also attended The University of Kansas. I was an active member of the women’s volleyball program for four years.
During my 14 years of playing volleyball I was primarily a middle blocker, but played on the outside as well. My time at KU I studied sport management, with the original goal of coaching as a profession. Thanks to COVID I was able to obtain a masters degree, and overall decided to move to Denver. I’m super excited about this is my first year coaching at 303 Volleyball Academy as an assistant for 14 Alpha Blue! I was also able to assist in coaching camps over the summers in college as well as helping out with club teams back home during breaks. I have a strong passion for the game and teaching it our next generation of athletes, and can’t wait to make an impact at 303!

Unfortunately, we do not know how long Al has coached with us at 303.  Somewhere aroud 13 years, but we do know he was on Staff when we were known as 303 Volleyball Club and made the transition to 303 VBA.

Al coached High School Volleyball for 12 years in the Denver Metro area, working with Sophomores through the Varsity level at Mullen High School, the Varsity Coach at KIPP Denver Collegiate, and the Gold Crown Program at Thunder Ridge in Highlands Ranch.  However, his journey actually started at the Littleton YMCA where he took over his young daughters (Kristin) team and as Al will tell you, he’s been hooked since.

Al Co-coached with our Club Director Erik Rhee when they qualified for Nationals in Minneapolis and, what Al will tell you is his most satisfying moment on the court is when he, with is daughter Kristin as his Assistant, qualified for Nationals in New Orleans.  What a Memory!!!

Throughout his coaching career, Al has enjoyed working with and teaching, young athletes as they learn and understand the challenges of competitive club volleyball.  Getting the satisfaction of witnessing a "first ever" serve over the net, a big swing resulting in a kill during a match, or  a big block to punch that ticket to Minneapolis.  The things that he’ll never forget.

Al has been blessed to witness numerous past players successfully compete in College and even the Olympic Games simply because he was the Dad that raised his hand at the Littleton YMCA, many, many years ago

 I’ve been coaching club volleyball for 5 years, all which have been at 303 Volleyball Academy. I began my volleyball career as a middle schooler and continued to play at Highlands Ranch High School and Front Range VBC.

I am beyond lucky to be surrounded by a community who is as passionate about the game as I am. I’ve learned an immense amount about the sport from my coaches in past and the coaches at 303 VBA, along with the girls I have coached. I look forward to the 23-24 club season with Al Ball and 14 Alpha Red
